ABOUT
While pursing an art degree at Rhode Island College, Lisa enrolled in a black and white photography course where she explored an interest she had always enjoyed. It was in this class that she became focused on what would become her passion and later, her career. She graduated with a commercial photography degree from the Rhode Island School of Photography in Providence, Rhode Island in 1986.
Upon graduation, Lisa was employed as a freelance photographer for a commercial photography studio in Warwick, RI for a six year period. There, she gained experience photographing a wide variety of products such as Quill pens, coffee and food products for Gevalia Coffee, and china and crystal stemware for Ross Simons. Her art background and sense of design proved to be an asset when styling and layout were required.
As the digital age has taken over the professional commercial studio, Lisa became immersed in learning about the new digital revolution. Her career took her to a new studio where she was now primarily focused on photographing jewelry for advertising, catalogs, and the web. Some of the clients included the Carla Corporation, the Colibri Group, and National Chain. Her creative eye and attention to detail proved to be the catalyst for her success in this highly specialized area of photography over the past 6 years.
In the fall of 2007, Lisa opened her own commercial photography studio, Luminessence Studio, where she continues to pursue her passion of photography. Although she maintains jewelry photography as a primary focus, her talent also extends to location and people images. Please visit the portfolio for sample images of her work.
